Native Title Services Victoria exists to deliver sustainable Native Title outcomes to Aboriginal people in Victoria that will respect, protect and transmit Aboriginal culture and identity for present and future generations.
Native Title Services Victoria (NTSV) assists many Native Title groups in Victoria in matters arising from their Native Title.
NTSV was registered as a company limited by guarantee in August 2003 for the purpose of providing professional services to Native Title claimant groups in Victoria. NTSV replaced the former NTRB Mirimbiak Nations Aboriginal Corporation.
NTSV's continuing aspirations are to maintain recognition and acceptance as a key organisation in all aspects relating to Native Title in Victoria. We will achieve this by:
providing a professional service centre for traditional owner groups of Victoria
supporting and respecting the autonomy of native title claim groups
using negotiation and mediation as key dispute resolution tools
helping Aboriginal Victorians to exercise their cultural responsibilities to care for land
helping native title claim groups to identify and achieve their own distinct aspirations under the Native Title Act
Our long term goals are to:
develop long term, sustainable and economic land bases for the Aboriginal peoples of Victoria
assist in the development of a united, informed Aboriginal community in Victoria
