Native Title Services Victoria exists to deliver sustainable Native Title outcomes to Aboriginal people in Victoria that will respect, protect and transmit Aboriginal culture and identity for present and future generations.
Native Title Services Victoria has recently launched a new Strategic Plan.
At a special sitting of the Federal Court of Australia on 27 July 2011, Justice North recognised the ongoing native title rights of the Gunditjmara and Eastern Maar peoples for an area of their traditional country in south-west Victoria. The orders were made by consent of all parties, including the State and the Commonwealth.
Native Title Services Victoria provides secretariat and policy/strategic advice to the Victorian Traditional Owners Land Justice Group, comprising representatives of first nation groups from across the State advocating for land justice. www.landjustice.com.au
